Sadly he passed away from complications due to the AIDS virus contracted through a blood transfusion a few months before production on Predator 2 had begun. This is the second child for Shanks, his first, Tatiana, with model Vaitiare Bandera, was born in 1998. He continued the role of Harry on the TV series of the same name . On 2 August 2003, Shanks married fellow actor Lexa Doig, and on 13 September 2004, they welcomed a daughter, Mia Tabitha. He was most famous for being the most unrecognised recognised actor when he played the Predator opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger and as the lovable Bigfoot Harry in Harry and the Hendersons (1987). He recently starred in the German Science Fiction Movie Sumuru as the astronaut Adam Wade. While working on the set of the series 227(1985), he met his co-star, Alaina Reed Hall who he married both on the set, and in real life, and they had two children. He made several guest appearances throughout the sixth season and returned for the seventh and eight seasons.

They also had a promotional business where they did promotional acts in department stores for new products throughtout the LA area. Shanks played Daniel Jackson throughout the first five seasons of the series before leaving the show. One was a semi-autobiographical two-man musical, "In Five", and the other was a two-man show called "The Worst Of Friends", both of which played in night clubs throughout the LA area. He also played in the tv movie A Family Divided and Call of the Wild before accepting his role in Stargate SG-1. Together, they put together two night club acts/musicals. He made guest appearances on tv series like The Highlander, University Hospital, and The Outer Limits. After a year, he lost interest and relocated to LA. in Fine Arts in 1994 Shanks played in several stage productions.

Upon graduation, Fenichel moved to Los Angeles and Hall moved to Venezuela to play basketball. After graduating from the University of British Columbia with a B.A. During his college years, he met Jay Fenichel with whom he would later make musical productions. This very tall Afro-American actor attended Penn Hills High School in Pittsburgh, PA where he played Basketball throughout his high school years, and won himself a scholarship to George Washington University in Washington DC. Michael Garrett Shanks (born December 15, 1970 in Vancouver, British Columbia) is a Canadian actor who achieved fame for his role as Dr. Kevin Peter Hall (9 May 1955 - 10 April 1991) Tall black American Actor famous for his roles as the 'monsters' in Harry and the Hendersons and Predator both (1987).
