Before that, she was married to Freddie Beckmeyer (1978 - 1981) and Jack White (November 26, 1993 - July 24, 2000) with whom she had two children. Other artists in this family tree include: The Broadways, Tuesday, The Lawrence Arms, The Honor System and, more tenuously, Florida's Less Than Jake. Sagal married Kurt Setter on October 2, 2004. The Alkaline Trio are part of a large circle of Chicago punk/ska/hardcore bands that have some connection to the late, influential ska-punk band Slapstick. Eight years later, in 2004, she released her second album Room. Alkaline Trio recently finished recording the songs for their next Vagrant Records release, which is scheduled to be released in the spring of 2005. In 1996, she released a gold-selling album of original material and covers called After the Harvest. Matt Skiba and Dan Andriano have both appeared on Asian Man Records Split Series with a few solo songs.

Sagal is also an accomplished songwriter. 1. No sooner had that door closed than she was cast as the wife of John Ritter in the sitcom 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter in 2002. 1,2, and 3, and Rock Against Bush Vol. The show developed a cult following but was cancelled four years later. 1 & 2 as well on Vagrant Records: Another year on the Streets Vol. In 1999, Matt Groening, who created The Simpsons, cast her as one-eyed alien spaceship pilot Leela in his sci-fi cartoon comedy Futurama. They have also appeared on various compilation albums notably Plea for Peace Vol.

After the end of Married...with Children, several more television movies followed for Sagal, and she was also a featured voice on the children's cartoon Recess. From Here to Infirmary was released in 2001 on Vagrant Records and was their first album to see any interest from alternative radio, with the semi-hit punk single "Stupid Kid". Their latest full-length album is Good Mourning, from 2003 (see 2003 in music). Her career focused almost entirely around this series for its ten year run (with the exception of several television movies.). Also in 2000, the band released a collection of their previously released EPs on the album The Alkaline Trio. On the show, she portrayed the lower-class, unhappy, sex-craved wife of a shoe salesman. Their first album was 1998's Goddamnit, followed by Maybe I'll Catch Fire in 2000 (Both on Asian Man Records). Sagal returned to television in 1985 in the failed television series Mary starring Mary Tyler Moore. This led to her being cast in her most well-known role, that of Peg Bundy on the very successul American sitcom Married...with Children. They began recording that year, and built up a sizable fanbase in the American Midwest.

She was plucked from relative obscurity by Bette Midler, who hired her for her 1979 tour as one of her back-up singers (The Harlettes). The band formed in 1997 (see 1997 in music). She appeared in several television movies between 1971 and 1975, including the Columbo picture Candidate for Crime and in 1973 working as a back-up singer for various mega-stars including Bob Dylan, Gene Simmons, and Tanya Tucker. Their music is characterized by morbid lyrics, catchy hooks, fast tempos and a recurring theme of alcoholism. Sagal began her career working the Hollywood circuit. The Alkaline Trio is an indie rock/punk/emo band from Chicago consisting of Matt Skiba (of Jerkwater) on guitar/vocals, Dan Andriano on bass/vocals, and Derek Grant on drums. She is also the sister of actor Joe Sagal.

She is the daughter of film director Boris Sagal, and the older sister of twin actresses Jean Sagal and Liz Sagal. Katey Sagal (born Catherine Louise Sagal on January 19, 1957 in Hollywood, California), is an American singer, writer, and actress most known for her portrayal of the character Peg Bundy in the American sitcom Married...with Children (1987 - 1997).
