Capshaw converted to Judaism and wed the billionaire director on October 12, 1991; they have 5 children together. In the 2000s, Mónica has left her dancing career and achieved fame on her own in the youth-oriented TV series Un Paso Adelante. Capshaw met director Steven Spielberg upon winning the female lead (from a pool of 120 actresses) for the blockbuster film Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
