Julie Christie

Julie Christie (born April 14, 1941) is a British actress, winner of an Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in the 1965 film, Darling.

Ms. Christie was born in Chabua, Assam, India and studied at the Central School of Music and Drama before getting her big break in 1961 in a science fiction series on BBC television, entitled A for Andromeda. The full recordings have now been lost, although a section of material from the final episode, featuring Christie, does survive.

Her first major film role was opposite Tom Courtenay in Billy Liar (1963). She played Lara in Doctor Zhivago (1965) and Bathsheba in Far from the Madding Crowd (1967). Christie was a leading figure in the glamorous London of the 1960s, and continues to make movies including those in the French language with Sophie Marceau in 2001's Belphégor - Le fantôme du Louvre.

Christie was a leading figure in the glamorous London of the 1960s, and continues to make movies including those in the French language with Sophie Marceau in 2001's Belphégor - Le fantôme du Louvre. Law, Tour of Duty, NYPD Blue and CSI: Miami. Her stint on the latter program ended abruptly in the middle of the first season, for reasons never completely revealed to the public, although possibly related to her arrest for drunken driving. She played Lara in Doctor Zhivago (1965) and Bathsheba in Far from the Madding Crowd (1967). Delaney has since appeared in a number of series, most notably L.A. Her first major film role was opposite Tom Courtenay in Billy Liar (1963). Greg Nelson was played by Laurence Lau. The full recordings have now been lost, although a section of material from the final episode, featuring Christie, does survive. She was a member of the fan-popular couple Jenny and Greg (Nelson).
