Jennifer Beals

She is a graduate of Yale University. Virginia Bruce died in Woodland Hills, California. Jennifer Beals is biracial, with an African-American father (deceased since she was 10) and an Irish mother. Her final film appearance was in 1960's Strangers When We Meet. Beals also stars in Showtime Network's The L Word. They divorced in 1951 but remarried in 1952. She has participated in little more than 50 movies. In 1946 she married Ali Ipar.

Beals has since starred in a list of lesser-known films and independent projects. Walter Rubin in 1937 and they had one son, but she was widowed again in 1942. Her career was affected by scandal shortly after, however, when it was revealed that some of the scenes in that movie where athletics were required were actually performed not by Beals herself, but by doubles. Virginia married film director J. Flashdance made Beals a Hollywood star and made her a household name. Gilbert died in 1936. Beals is a former teen model who is probably better known for her role as Alex in the 1983 movie Flashdance. The couple divorced in 1934 and Virginia returned to a hectic schedule of film appearances.

She retired briefly after the birth of their daughter. In 1930 she appeared on Broadway in the musical Smiles followed by America's Sweetheart in 1931. Born Helen Virginia Briggs in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Bruce began her acting career in minor roles in Hollywood in 1929. Virginia Bruce (September 29, 1910 - February 24, 1982) was an American actress and singer.
