Jeff Lynne

A tribute to Lynne called Lynne Me Your Ears, was released in 2002, and featured two CDs full of artists performing Lynne/ELO songs, including Todd Rundgren, SWAG (featuring members of Wilco, The Mavericks and Cheap Trick), Sixpence None The Richer, Doug Powell, PFR, Fleming and John, The Balls of France (Jerry Chamberlain of Daniel Amos), Rick Altizer and others. Moonlight", "Fortune Teller" and "Wishin' and Hopin", but broke up in 1966. Two members, Tony Crane and Billy Kinsley, formed the Merseys, who had one huge hit, "Sorrow", in Britain. A tour and DVD followed. Their hits included "I Stand Accused", "Mr. Lynne teamed up with ELO keyboardist Richard Tandy to reform ELO in 2001 for an album called Zoom. Closely associated with the Who, the Merseybeats' popular success was short-lived. In February of 1994, Lynne fulfilled a life long dream by working with the three surviving Beatles on their Anthology album series, and reunion tracks "Free As A Bird" and "Real Love". The Merseybeats were a merseybeat band that emerged from the Liverpool scene in the early 1960s, along with the Beatles, Gerry & the Pacemakers and other similar artists.

In 1990 he released the solo album "Armchair Theater". Lynne was born in Birmingham, UK. Prior to Electric Light Orchestra Lynne was a member of The Move and Idle Race. Jeff Lynne (born December 30, 1947) is a British singer-songwriter and was the founder of the Electric Light Orchestra in the 1970s as well as a co-founder, and a member, of the Traveling Wilburys in the 1980s.
