James Marsters, as the Buffyverse character Spike.

James Wesley Marsters (born August 20, 1962) is an actor, best known for playing the popular character Spike, a vampire, in the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the Buffy-spinoff Angel.

He has made guest appearances on the television series Northern Exposure and Andromeda.

In 2003-4, he was also lead singer for the little known rock band, Ghost of the Robot. Their debut album Mad Brilliant was released on February 2, 2003. James left the band mid-2004 and began a new solo career with a London acoustic concert in October 2004.
