Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

Harrison Ford and Pat Roach are the only actors to appear in all three films in the trilogy (Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade).

. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade ends with Henry Sr. [1]. Then Indy attempts to get the Grail, but his father tells him to "let it go", thus the Grail is never recovered as the heroes escape the crumbling Holy Temple. His remains were moved from Santa Marta to Caracas in 1842, where a monument was set up for his burial.

Indy tries to save her, but she falls into the abyss while trying to recover the Grail. Bolívar finally resigned his presidency on April 27, 1830, intending to leave the country for exile in Europe or the Caribbean, and died from tuberculosis on December 17, 1830, in "La Quinta de San Pedro Alejandrino", in Santa Marta, Colombia. As the knight warned, the building collapses and she loses her balance at the edge of a crevasse. Dissident feelings continued, and uprisings would later occur in New Granada, Venezuela and Ecuador during the next two years. Schneider then tries to leave with the Grail and crosses the Great Seal. Although he emerged physically intact, this nevertheless greatly affected Bolívar. Indy takes the Grail with the holy water and heals his father. An assassination attempt in September 1828 failed.

Indy picks the true Grail, but the knight commands him not to let the Grail go "past the Great Seal", as it is the boundary of immortality. He considered this as a temporary measure, as a means to reestablish his authority and save the republic, though it increased dissatisfaction and anger among his political opponents. The grail was a false one and Donovan is killed. After the failure of the convention due to grave political differences, Bolívar proclaimed himself dictator on August 27, 1828 through the "Organic Decree of Dictatorship". Schneider then picks out a golden, bejeweled grail which Donovan drinks from. Unhappy with what would be the ensuing result, Bolívar's delegates left the convention. Donovan and Schneider immediately follow Indy. This move was considered controversial and was one of the reasons why the deliberations met with strong opposition.

Indy, guided by his father's diary, surpasses the challenges, arriving in a room with Holy Grail hidden amongst many false grails and a knight of the last Crusade surviving by the Grail's power. Bolivar had wanted to implement in Gran Colombia some or all of the elements of the Bolivian constitution he had written (which included a lifetime presidency with the ability to select a successor, though this was theoretically held in check by an intricate system of balances). The quest reaches its climax at the Canyon of the Crescent Moon, in Hatay near Iskenderun, where the Holy Temple (secret home to the Grail) is located. Donovan captures Indy in the temple and shoots Indy's father, forcing him to face a set of challenges and retrieve the Grail for its healing powers to save his father's life. In an attempt to keep the republic together as a single entity, Bolívar called for a constitutional convention at Ocaña during April 1828. Eventually, their individual quests cross paths and lead to a confrontation where Kazim, the cult leader, is killed by Donovan's men and a desert chase that reunites Indy and his father with Brody and Sallah. An amnesty was declared and an arrangement was reached with the Venezuelan rebels, but political dissent in New Granada grew as a consequence of this. But on their trail is a fanatical religious cult determined to protect the Holy Grail at all costs. During 1826, internal divisions had sparked dissent throughout the nation and regional uprisings erupted in Venezuela, thus the fragile South American coalition appeared to be on the verge of collapse.

Donovan and Schneider, with Brody, begin the Grail quest as does Indy with his father and Sallah. However Bolívar had great difficulties maintaining control of the vast Gran Colombia. Meanwhile, the Nazis capture Brody, somewhere in Turkey, and learn where to start the Grail quest. On August 6, 1825, at the Congress of Upper Peru, the Republic of Bolivia was created in honour of Bolívar, who drafted a new constitution for the new nation. Indy discovers that both work for the Nazis and that his father's kidnapping was staged to get him to solve the mystery of the Grail for them. Indy and his father escape the Nazis and go to Berlin, to retrieve his father's Grail diary needed to complete the quest. Sucre destroyed the still numerically superior remnants of the Spanish forces at Ayacucho on December 9. In Germany, Indiana finds his father but both find themselves being betrayed by both Schneider and Donovan. Bolívar, assisted by Antonio José de Sucre, decisively defeated the Spanish cavalry on August 6 1824 at Junín.

Indy encounters a secret society of Grail protectors who tells him that his father is being held in Brunwald Castle near the Austrian-German border. The Peruvian congress named him dictator of Peru on February 10, 1824, which allowed Bolívar to completely reorganize the political and military administration. Inside the library (a converted church which is actually the Church of San Barnaba in Campo San Barnaba) where his father was last seen, Indy discovers the tomb of a knight of the "Last Crusade" which holds information needed to begin the quest for the Grail. After a meeting in Guayaquil on July 26 and 27 1822 with Argentine General José de San Martín, who had received the title of Protector of Peruvian Freedom in August 1821 after having partially liberated Peru from the Spanish, Bolívar took over the task of fully liberating Peru. Elsa Schneider (Doody) to follow the footsteps of his father. Further victories at the Carabobo in 1821 and Pichincha in 1822 consolidated his rule over Venezuela and Ecuador respectively. Indy and Marcus travel to Venice to meet Dr. A victory at the Battle of Boyacá in 1819 added Colombia to the territories free from Spanish control, and in September 7, 1821 the Gran Colombia (a federation covering much of Venezuela, Colombia, Panama, and Ecuador) was created, with Bolívar as president and Francisco de Paula Santander as vice president.

Walter Donovan (Glover) informs Indy that Henry Jones Sr., his father (Connery), vanished while searching for the missing half of a clue leading to the Holy Grail, which has the power to grant eternal life. In 1816, with Haitian help, Bolívar landed in Venezuela and captured Angostura (now Ciudad Bolívar). The story then advances to 1938; Indy (Ford), now a grown man, is successful in getting the Cross and donating it to Marcus Brody's (Elliott) museum. However, after a number of political and military disputes with the government of Cartagena, Bolívar fled in 1815 to Jamaica, where he requested the Haitian leader Alexandre Pétion for aid. The small adventure inspires his whip, fear of snakes, fedora (and style of dress), and even the scar on his chin. He intended to march into Cartagena and enlist the aid of local forces in order to capture Royalist Santa Marta. The movie starts in 1912 with Indy (Phoenix) as a Boy Scout in a failed attempt to retrieve the Cross of Coronado from grave robbers. Due to the rebellion of José Tomás Boves in 1814 and the fall of the republic, he returned to New Granada, where he then commanded a Colombian nationalist force and entered Bogotá in 1814, recapturing the city from the dissenting republican forces of Cundinamarca.

Also like the previous films in the series, the soundtrack was composed by John Williams. Caracas was retaken on August 6, 1813, where he was proclaimed as El Libertador, thus proclaiming the Second Venezuelan Republic. Indiana Jones artist Drew Struzan created the film's distinctive artwork. Six days later, on June 15, dictated his famous Decree of War to the Death (Decreto de Guerra a Muerte). Some Indiana Jones fans have attempted to create replicas. He entered Mérida on May 23, following the occupation of Trujillo on June 9. In the story it contains important clues that are needed to find and safely obtain the Holy Grail. This was the beginning of the famous Campaña Admirable, the Admirable Campaign.

A notable item in the movie is the Grail diary of Henry Jones Sr. In 1813, after acquiring a military command in New Granada under the direction of the Congress of Tunja, he led the invasion of Venezuela on May 14. Yet there have been persistent rumors of Indiana Jones 4 in that time. In this period, Bolívar wrote his Cartagena Manifesto. After producing the three Indiana Jones movies in the 1980s, no further movies have been made as of 2005. But in July 1812, junta leader Francisco de Miranda surrendered, and Bolívar had to flee to Cartagena de Indias. The Indiana Jones movies were released on DVD in October 2003. Bolívar returned to Venezuela in 1811.

It was released on laserdisc in 1990. The Caracas junta declared its independence in 1810, and Bolívar was sent to England on a diplomatic mission. Last Crusade is estimated to have grossed $494,800,000 USD. Bolívar returned to Venezuela in 1807 and, when Napoleon made Joseph King of Spain and its colonies in 1808, he participated in the resistance juntas in South America. In 1989, Lucasfilm Games released both a graphical adventure game and an action game of the same name based on the film. Bolívar returned to Europe in 1804 and for a time was part of Napoleon's retinue. The lightheartedness of the movie especially contrasts to its predecessor Temple of Doom, which is usually cited as the "darkest" in the trilogy. There he married María Teresa Rodríguez del Toro y Alaysa in 1802, but on a brief return visit to Venezuela in 1803, she succumbed to yellow fever.

Also Marcus Brody is a less serious character than his previous appearance in Raiders of the Lost Ark, being described as a museum curator who "once got lost in his own museum". Following the death of his parents, he went to Spain in 1799 to complete his education. The humor is mainly shown through the relationship between Indiana and his father. Among his tutors was Simón Rodríguez, whose ideas and educational style heavily influenced the young man. This installment in the Indiana Jones series has more humor than the previous two films. Bolívar was born in Caracas, in modern-day Venezuela, into an aristocratic family, educated by different tutors after his parents died. (played by Sean Connery) vanishes while pursuing a life-long search for the Holy Grail, Indiana must retrace his father's steps in the hopes of rescuing him — and the Grail — from the clutches of the Nazi military machine. .

Henry Jones, Sr. Credited with leading the fight for independence in what are now the nations of Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, today's Panama and Bolivia, he is revered as a hero in these countries and throughout much of the rest of Latin America. It is the third, and currently final, installment of the Indiana Jones movies.
