Herbert Lom

(incomplete). Mitchum was a workman and professional boxer before going to Hollywood in 1943. He is best known for his portrayal of Charles Dreyfus, Inspector Clouseau's long-suffering superior in Blake Edwards's Pink Panther films. He also had several noteworthy television appearances. He was born Herbert Charles Angelo Kuchacevich ze Schluderpacheru in Prague. A 1949 drug conviction and short prison sentence for marijuana posession sidetracked his career for a few years in the early 1950s. Herbert Lom (born January 9, 1917) is an international film actor. With his imposing physical presence and rumbling voice, he was particularly well-suited to play menacing figures, but he was quite successful in tempering this with an underlying aspect of raw intelligence.
