Baclanova worked extensively on stage in London's West End and in New York, for about ten years from the mid 1930s. Clutch (1998) - Spit. It did not revive her film career which ended in 1943. Baclonova studied drama at the Cherniavsky Institute in Russia before being accepted into the prestigious Moscow Art Theatre in 1912. Born in Moscow, Russia, Baclanova was the daughter of Vladimir Baklonoff and his wife Alexandra, herself an actress in early Russian films.
