Frances Dee

She died in Norwalk, Connecticut due to complications from a stroke. Eldridge died from a heart attack in Long Beach, California. They had 3 sons, including actor Jody McCrea. She was married to the actor Fredric March, with whom she often appeared both in films and in stageplays, from 1927 until his death in 1975. McCrea died on their 57th wedding anniversary. Among her films were The Divorcee (1930), Thirteen Women (1932), Les Misérables (1935), Mary of Scotland (1936) and Inherit the Wind (1960). She met actor Joel McCrea on the set of the 1933 film "The Silver Cord." They married on October 20, 1933 after a whirlwind courtship. Born Florence McKechnie in Brooklyn, New York, Eldrige was a supporting actress in films who also achieved a long career as a theater actress.

In 1929, her father was transferred back to L.A., and (as a lark) she began working in movies as an extra. Florence Eldridge (September 5, 1901 - August 1, 1988) was an American film actress. She was born in Los Angeles, where her Army officer father was stationed, and grew up in Chicago. Frances Dee (November 26, 1907 - March 6, 2004) was an actress.
