Currently, Dissection has plans to release a new album. The band subsequently announced its breakup, to occur after a final tour. Since then, Nödtveidt has formed a new line-up for Dissection and recorded one 2-track EP entitled Mahi Kali. Poor sales of It's All In Your Head (192,000 Units Moved) resulted in Eve 6's release from their record contract with RCA. He was released in autumn of 2004. Romance and angst are common themes. In 1997, Jon Nödtveidt was convicted for helping to murder a 38-year old man in Göteborg. The group was perhaps best known for its lyrics, which feature vivid imagery and inventive wordplay: two of the group's hits, "Inside Out" (from their self-titled album) and "Promise" (from Horrorscope), are good examples of this style.

It was compiled from previous rare and import releases, and contained only cover songs and demo tracks. Eve 6's musical style was relatively limited, with the notable exception of their innovative final album, It's All in Your Head, which featured a wide range of songs. The following year, Dissection also released a short EP entitled Where Dead Angels Lie. After seeing the episode "Eve", which featured genetically engineered characters known as "Eves," he got the name from the character called Eve #6 who made a remark about biting a guard's eyeball (http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~gjm5xx/transcrp/scrp110.htm), which Fagenson thought merited "Eve 6" as a band name. In 1995, the band's second full-length album, called Storm Of The Light's Bane, was released. Tony Fagenson, who auditioned while attending the University of Southern California, was an X-Files fan. During November of 1994, Dissection signed a record deal with the well-known German label Nuclear Blast. The band formed in 1995 in La Crescenta, California as Eleventeen; the name Eve 6 was only adopted later, after they already had a recording contract and were looking for a replacement drummer.

It was formally dedicated to Euronymous, the then-guitarist of Mayhem, who had been murdered earlier that year. Eve 6 was a punk band from Southern California, whose first album was released in 1998 and which disbanded in 2004. The album was finished and released the following December. Because of coordination problems between members, the entire band moved to Göteborg, Sweden (where they shared a rehearsal space with At The Gates) in the summer of 1993. Later that year, Dissection accepted the deal and recorded Into Infinite Obscurity. Eve 6 Website (http://www.eve6.com). The Grief Prophecy was soon spread through the underground, and the French record label Corpsegrinder Records offered Dissection a deal to record an EP. It's All in Your Head - July 22, 2003. A special edition of The Grief Prophecy was later released in memory of Dead, the former vocalist for the notorious Norwegian black metal group Mayhem, who committed suicide in 1991. Eleventeen (as Eleventeen) - 1996. It contained three songs and featured illustrations by the artist known as Necrolord, who has since created nearly all of Dissection's album art. Dissection's line-up, however, was not complete until early the next year. Dissection was officially formed in the autumn of 1989 by Nödveidt, who had since left Rabbit's Carrot. Nödveidt was leaning more and more towards death metal and other forms of dark extreme music. Nödveidt and Öhman continued on to play in the band Rabbit's Carrot, in which they claim to have never felt quite at home (especially Nödveidt).

The group recorded a single demo before breaking up in 1989. Its members were Jon Nödveidt, Ole Öhman, Peter Palmdahl, and Mattias Johansson. In 1988, a thrash metal band by the name of Siren's Yell was formed in the Swedish town of Strömstad. Dissection is a well-known Swedish melodic black metal band formed in 1989 by guitarist and vocalist Jon Nödveidt.
