Delta Burke

Delta is married to actor Gerald McRaney. On her passing in 1974, she was interred in San Fernando Mission Cemetery in Los Angeles, California. She is a designer and manager of the clothing company Delta Burke Design in New York City. She retired following that film and helped her husband run a business called "Ashtrays Unlimited". She represented Florida and was paired with Georgia, Gail Nelson, in the Miss America Pagent in 1974, and won a talent scholarship allowing her to attend a two-year study program at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. Compson's last film was Here Comes Trouble. She is probably best known for her roll as Suzanne Sugarbaker in the sitcom Designing Women. Compson was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress for the performance.
