Cary Elwes (born Ivan Simon Cary Elwes in England on October 26, 1962) is a British actor.

Elwes attended Sarah Lawrence College in Yonkers, New York, where he studied acting. His late father, Dominic Evelyn Bede Elwes, an artist, descended from a staunchly Roman Catholic recusant family, and his mother, Tessa Kennedy, is of Anglo-Irish and Serbo-Croatian extraction.
