She acted alongside Sandra Bullock and Ashley Judd in Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood. She died from a kidney ailment. She read a poem written by a girl whose father was fighting in Afghanistan, on Memorial Day 2002. She was married to the English film director Sir Carol Reed (1943-1947). Wachs was born in Eugene, Oregon, was nicknamed Cat and Shimmer and has a brother who was born in 2000. She appeared in such other films as Gaslight, Tom Brown's Schooldays and Island in the Sun. Caitlin Wachs (born March 15, 1989) is a young American actress. She was nominated that same year for the Academy Award for Best Actress for Cavalcade.
