She played a recurring character in Friends, the estranged birth mother of Phoebe Buffay, in the late-1990s. Britt Ekland became famous as a result of her whirlwind romance with British actor and comedian, Peter Sellers, who proposed after seeing her photograph in the paper; they had one daughter, Victoria, before divorcing. She hosted Saturday Night Live on three occasions in the early and mid-1980s.
