Bobby Goldsboro

Bobby Goldsboro (born January 18, 1941) is an American pop music singer.

Although he was born in Marianna, Florida, Goldsboro grew up in Dothan, Alabama. Goldsboro's music career led to a three year stint playing guitar for the tour band backing Roy Orbison.

Known for his romantic love songs, in 1968 Goldsboro had a Number One hit with the song "Honey". He recorded several other popular hits including the song written by Mac Davis "Watching Scotty Grow", "Summer (The First Time)" and "Autumn of My Life".

The song "One Night in Bangkok," from Chess, featuring Head on lead vocal, became a radio hit. Known for his romantic love songs, in 1968 Goldsboro had a Number One hit with the song "Honey". Despite these successes, he received little public attention in the next ten years, reappearing in the spotlight in 1984 as the star of the musical, Chess. Goldsboro's music career led to a three year stint playing guitar for the tour band backing Roy Orbison. At around the same time he won a leading role in the Oscar-winning Sunday Bloody Sunday (1971), alongside Peter Finch and Glenda Jackson. Although he was born in Marianna, Florida, Goldsboro grew up in Dothan, Alabama. He had limited success until selected by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber to play Judas Iscariot on the original album version of Jesus Christ Superstar.

His younger brother is "Buffy" star, Anthony Stewart Head. He was born in London, his parents being Seafield Head, a documentary-maker, and Helen Shingler, an actress. Murray Head (born March 5, 1946) is a British actor and singer.
