Beau Bridges

Bridges enjoys playing guitar (as does his brother), collects Native American percussion instruments, loves the ocean (such as swimming and surfing), and is also active in handgun control and environmental protection. His first wife was Pym McLean (1943-1983; two daughters Lee and Sally) and his second wife is the novelist, Kate Fenton (1992- ). Realizing his height was holding him back from excelling in basketball, however, he dropped out of school to continue acting instead. Ian Carmichael has been married twice. Wanting to be a basketball star, however, he played his freshmen year at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and later transferred to the University of Hawaii. He was awarded the OBE in the 2003 New Year's Honours List. In 1949, Bridges played a secondary juvenile role in the movie The Red Pony, for which he received good billing. He continues to appear on television, notably in the ITV series, The Royal.

Their sister, Cindy, was born in 1950. He will be best remembered for two roles:. Bridges is also the older brother of actor Jeff Bridges, born in 1949. During the 1960s and 1970s, he enjoyed success in television, including the sitcom, Bachelor Father, based on the story of a real-life bachelor who took on several foster children. He was nicknamed "Beau" by his mother and father after Ashley Wilkes' son in Gone With the Wind, the title of the book they were reading at the time. He made his name playing mild-mannered upper-class twits in comedy films such as Brothers in Law (1957), I'm All Right, Jack (1959) and School for Scoundrels (1960). Beau Bridges, actually born Lloyd Vernet Bridges III on December 9, 1941, is an American actor. He is the son of actor Lloyd Bridges and his college sweetheart, Dorothy Dean. He was educated at Scarborough College and Bromsgrove School.
