Barbara Eden

Barbara Eden has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for her contributions to television at 2003 Hollywood Boulevard. Media reports indicated that she was in fact suffering the effects of nerve damage to her back, caused by a stunt during the filming of Alias. This led to a Harper Valley P.T.A. series in 1981. Garner is known for performing her own stunts, and in January 2005 she was forced to bow out of some publicity duties for her film Elektra due to what was first thought to have been a viral infection. She appeared regularly on television after the series was cancelled and starred in the feature film Harper Valley P.T.A. based on the popular country and western song. She enjoys cooking, gardening, hiking and kickboxing (a hobby inspired by her character on Alias). The show proved to be a huge success, running from 1965 until 1970 and during this time Eden was nominated twice for Golden Globe Awards. She married Scott Foley (who played her love interest on Felicity) in 2000, but separated and filed for divorce in 2003 and began dating her Alias co-star Michael Vartan, though in the summer of 2004 she was romantically linked with her Daredevil co-star Ben Affleck.

She played supporting roles in films over the next few years before being signed to play the character of Jeannie in the television series I Dream of Jeannie, opposite Larry Hagman. She currently stars as the character of Sydney Bristow in the TV show Alias. After realizing that she loved the stage more than science, she changed her major to drama. The following year, she starred in a supporting role as Lt. Although Garner was born in Texas, her father's engineering job with Union Carbide (now a part of Dow Chemical) took the family to Charleston, West Virginia when she was three years old, and she lived in Charleston until she left for college.

Eden made her film debut in Back from Eternity (1956), and the following year starred in the television series How to Marry a Millionaire, playing the role Marilyn Monroe had played in the film version.
