Ashley Judd

She is married to Scottish Indy Racing League driver Dario Franchitti. She died of breast cancer. Whenever her schedule allows, she is regularly at UK basketball games, and is frequently sought out for celebrity camera shots during televised games (much like Jack Nicholson with the Los Angeles Lakers or Spike Lee with the New York Knicks). Some of these films, particularly "The Web of Love," have gone on to become camp classics. As a result she could play leading roles in films that were bound to be successful at the box office, but still required acting skills, like Double Jeopardy (1999) and Someone Like You (2001). She starred in short musical films for the Scopitone video-jukebox system, which anticipated MTV by decades. By the end of the 1990s she managed to achieve significant fame and success as an actress. Later movie roles included a part in 1967's "Hillbillies in a Haunted House.".

She found further critical acclaim in Smoke (1995) and publicity in Heat (1995). In 1952, she played a uncredited role in the MGM blockbuster "Singing in the Rain." On television she appeared on "The Adventures of Wild Bill Hickok," "I Love Lucy," and "The Beverly Hillbillies" in a recurring role. She had a role in Oliver Stone's Natural Born Killers, but all the scenes she played in were cut from the final version of the film. Her earliest work was as a model, and she began her film career in 1948. Her film debut was a small part in Kuffs (1992) and the first major role was in Ruby in Paradise (1993), a hit independent drama. A buxom blonde model and actress, Lansing was often cast in roles similar to those played by contemporaries Jayne Mansfield and Mamie Van Doren. She graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1990, majoring in French. Joi Lansing was the screen name of Joyce Wassmansdoff, born in Salt Lake City, Utah on April 6, 1928.
