Annie Potts

She is probably best known for her roles in Ghostbusters and in the television sitcom, Designing Women, but has done a wide variety of prominent roles in both television and film. The Whigs also contributed two songs to the soundtrack: "Be For Real" and the Barry White cover "Can't Get Enough of Your Love Babe".

She is the daughter of Powell Grisette Potts and Dorothy Harris (Billingslea) Potts and has two older sisters, Mary Eleanor (Potts) Hovious, and Elizabeth Grissette ("Dollie") Potts. In 1996, Greg Dulli served as executive producer for the soundtrack for the Ted Demme film Beautiful Girls. She then received her Bachelor in Fine Arts degree (in theater arts) from Stephens College in Missouri. For the next few years, personnel problems interfered with recording and touring, and the band released two more albums - Black Love in 1996 and 1965 in 1998 - before they broke up in 2001. She was born in Franklin, Kentucky, where she graduated from Franklin-Simpson High School. The Afghan Whigs then signed to a major label, Elektra Records, and released another critically acclaimed album, Gentlemen that failed to break the band into the mainstream, though it spawned the minor hit "Debonair". Annie Potts (born October 28, 1952) is an American television and film actress. Then in 1990, Up in It was released; this was followed by the critically acclaimed 1992 album Congregation and a covers album, Uptown Avondale.
