Anita Garvin

. On television, she is best known for her role as Lilimae Clements on the soap opera Knots Landing, a role she played from 1981 to 1987. In the early 1940's Garvin gave up acting to raise a family. Besides her Academy Award nomination and her Tony Awards, Harris has won three Emmy Awards and has been nominated eleven times. She then began working for the Hal Roach, where she appeared in many silent films with Chase. Garvin appeared in a total of eleven Laurel and Hardy films. In the late 1960s, she starred in two episodes of Tarzan opposite Ron Ely. Later, she moved to California where she initially worked for the Christie's comedy unit. She had created the role on Broadway.

Garvin was born in New York City. Harris's screen debut was in 1952 in The Member of the Wedding, for which she was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress. She is best known for her work with the comedians Laurel and Hardy and Charley Chase. Born Julia Ann Harris in Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan, she has received more Tony Award nominations (ten) and wins (five) than any other performer. Anita Garvin (February 11, 1906 - July 7, 1994) was an American actress and comedienne who appeared in both silent and sound films. Julie Harris (born December 2, 1925) is an American actress.
