In 2004, Andrew drummed with To Live and Shave in L.A., a band featuring Weasel Walter, Thurston Moore and Tom Smith. Another great song is "Where do I begin". So far, the show is a hit. Bassey became a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire (the female equivalent of a Knight Commander) on December 31, 1999. In 2004, MTV2 gave Andrew his own reality show, Your Friend, Andrew WK. A few months later, Shirley Bassey signed to EMI Columbia, and the second phase in her recording career had begun. It also spawned the hit single, "Tear It Up". They ended up with both in the top 3 at the same time.

This did not stop it from being a hit, though, and it was an even bigger smash than I Get Wet. Shirley also recorded Kiss Me, Honey Honey, Kiss Me at this time, and while As I Love You raced up the charts, so too did this record. In spite of Andrew's party-hearty debut, The Wolf was more of a mature effort, with insightful lyrics and more of a melodic sound. In February 1959, it made #1 and stayed there for 4 weeks. In late 2003, along with all the other hair band revival artists he spawned, he released a sophomore album, The Wolf. It didn't sell well at first, but after a chance appearance at the London Palladium, things began to pick up. In 2002, he re-recorded his old song "We Want Fun" for the soundtrack of Jackass: The Movie. As I Love You appeared as a b-side to another ballad, Hands Across The Sea.

He also recorded an original song for KitKat chocolate wafers entitled 'Gimme a Break'. In mid-1958, she recorded two singles which would end up as classics in the Bassey catalogue. His work also showed up in several commercials: the opening track, 'It's Time To Party', was featured in a commercial for Hotwire.com, a Coors spot, and an Expedia.com ad. That year she also recorded under the direction of US producer Mitch Miller in America for the Columbia label, producing the single If I Had A Needle And Thread / Tonight My Heart She Is Crying. I Get Wet was considered one of the best albums of the year, with the songs "Party Hard" and "She is Beautiful" becoming smash singles. Further singles appeared, and in February 1957 Shirley scored her first hit with The Banana Boat Song, which peaked at #8 in the British chart. That summer, he played Ozzy Osbourne's Ozzfest, along with acts such as Down, Black Sabbath, and System of a Down. Due to the suggestive lyric, the BBC banned it, but it still sold well nonetheless, backed with her powerful rendition of Stormy Weather.

The album went to #1 on Billboard's 'Heatseekers' list and caused quite a stir, due to its retro sound. Shirley duly recorded her first single, entitled Burn My Candle, and Philips released it in February 1956. with a large stream of blood running from his nose, down his chin and onto his throat. This cover art caused a controversy in Europe, as it was seen as endorsing cocaine usage. While she starred in this show, Philips A&R and record producer Johnny Franz spotted her on television, became impressed, and offered her a record deal. It is also known for its highly recognizable cover art: a photo of a greasy-haired Andrew W.K. She toured various theatres until she got an offer of the show that put her firmly on the road to stardom, Al Read's Such Is Life. The album was a raunchy hair metal affair, complete with pounding guitars and background synths. He saw talent in Shirley, and decided he would make her a star.

WK released his second solo album, I Get Wet, in 2002 on Island Records. However, in 1955, a chance recommendation of her to Michael Sullivan, a booking agent in London, put her firmly on course for her destined career. Later, he recorded an EP of songs as a solo artist titled Girls Own Juice in 2000, which included songs such as "Violent Life", "Girls Own Juice", "Make Sex", and "We Want Fun", a few of which he has re-recorded for later releases. By this time Shirley had become sick of show business and had become pregnant at 16 years old with her daughter Sharon, so she went back to waitressing in Cardiff. He also released a few songs as a solo keyboardist under the name Ancient Art of Boar. She next took up a professional engagement in Hot From Harlem, which ran until 1954. Marks—and was enthusiastically hyped by the local press, most notably by Gavin McInnes of Vice Magazine. In 1953, she signed up for the revue Memories of Jolson, a musical based on the life of Al Jolson.

Later, he released a number of singles with Bulb as a solo musician and performed around New York—including a memorable solo keyboard performance at Starbucks Coffee on St. She enjoyed singing while she packed enamel pots, and to supplement her wage she sang in local pubs and clubs.
