Some song tracks include: "I'm Adolf Hitler", "The Guy Who Shot His Kid Up With AIDS is Awesome", and "I Went Back In Time, And Voted For Hitler". The Japanese version of the album features as bonus tracks both sides of their debut single. They released Split With The Raunchous Brothers in 2000. The title track was written by Elvis Costello. Additionally, infamous punk rocker GG Allin has a song titled "Anal Cunt", but there is no relation between them. Doll Revolution, featuring such songs as "Stealing Rosemary", "Ride the Ride", "Nickel Romeo", and the single "Something That You Said", was released in early 2003.

Since 1997, Anal Cunt has also become known for its acoustic black metal side-project Impaled Northern Moonforest, another joke band. A cover version of "Eternal Flame" was a 2001 UK #1 for Atomic Kitten. Anal Cunt's take on making song titles a joke in themselves may have influenced many other hardcore and grindcore bands who attempt to get laughs from humorous, but often cryptic, titles. In 2000 they reformed to tour, and in 2001-2002 recorded a new record. However, they are still going strong in 2005. 1988's Everything was another multi-platinum smash, and included their biggest selling single in the soft ballad "Eternal Flame", but working relationships within the band had broken down and they split shortly after, with Hoffs embarking on a solo career and Vicki Peterson touring as a member of The Go-Gos and the Continental Drifters. The band was meant as a joke, and was to only release one album and do one show. They soon had another #2 hit with a cover of Simon and Garfunkel's "Hazy Shade Of Winter," from the soundtrack of the film "Less Than Zero.".

Anal Cunt was founded in 1988 in Massachusetts by Seth Putnam. The Bangles' debut album on Columbia, All Over The Place (1984) captured their power-pop roots, and attracted the attention of Prince, who wrote "Manic Monday", a US #2 hit, for the group. The sound of a typical Anal Cunt song is loud distorted guitars usually just open strings, drums whacked endlessly and really loud screaming. Zilinskas left in 1983 and was replaced with Michael Steele, formerly of The Runaways. One recurring song title is X is gay, with X being variable: some well-known examples are The Internet is Gay, Windchimes are Gay, and The Word 'Homophobic' is Gay. This lineup put out the Bangles EP that same year.

Some examples of their less controversial song titles are Hitler Was A Sensitive Man, I Hope You Get Deported, and Connor Clapton Committed Suicide Because His Father Sucks (the original title for Your Kid Committed Suicide Because You Suck). The original lineup was Susanna Hoffs (guitar, vocals), Debbi Peterson (drums, vocals, bass), and Vicki Peterson (guitar, vocals, bass); this lineup made one 45, "Getting out of Hand" b/w "Call on Me." Annette Zilinskas took over bass duties in 1982 and also played harmonica. One ongoing dispute is how much Anal Cunt actually believes in what they say on their albums. They were forced to change their name to The Bangles when a band from New Jersey, also named The Bangs, threatened to sue. The band has often been criticized for its popularity being based solely on their controversial song titles and lyrics rather than any musical ability, and is often quoted when a debate is being made against the grindcore genre of music. The band was formed in Los Angeles in 1981 as The Supersonic Bangs, later shortened to The Bangs. Their song titles consist almost entirely (barring the Picnic Of Love album, as well as covers of the A-Team and Hungry Hungry Hippos themes) of generally offensive material. The Bangles are a popular American pop band started in the mid-1980s, one of the new generation of independent all-women bands that followed The Go-Gos.
