She was born on June 22 in New London, Connecticut and was raised in Glastonbury. Her success has led her into feature films. Actress Amy Brenneman (1964 - ) formerly starred on NYPD Blue and is currently the star of Judging Amy. She has also won four Screen Actors Guild Awards for her role. She won the Emmy Award in 2000. Her characterisation brought her acclaim and four Emmy Award nominations. Cast in the NBC comedy television series Will & Grace, Mullally played the shrill voiced, pill popping, booze guzzling Karen Walker. Small parts in such films as Risky Business (1983), and About Last Night (1986) followed but it was not until 1998 that she secured her first real success as an actress. She moved back to Los Angeles but was unable to find success. Growing up in Oklahoma, her popularity in college stage productions led to Mullally determining her future, and she dropped out of college to pursue her acting goal.
