She effectively removed herself from the public eye for many years, resurfacing in the critically acclaimed television show Miss Match. In tribute, David Lynch dedicated his film Mulholland Dr. to her memory. Though hardly obese by any standard, Silverstone had obviously put on more weight than the public was used to seeing her carry, and this started a whirlwind of rumours which affected her personal life. Jennifer Symes was buried next to her daughter. Around the time in which she was featured as Batgirl in Batman, Silverstone was lambasted by tabloid media and mainstream press alike for putting on weight. Syme's relationship with Reeves ended shortly after the child's death but they remained friends until her own untimely passing as a result of an automobile accident in the spring of 2001 in Los Angeles. Recently, she has extended her repertoir by working as a producer both in TV and film. Silverstone has continued to make a wide range of movie and television appearances, appearing mostly in comedy and action roles (she is widely known for her role in Clueless), although proving herself versatile enough to tackle the major Shakespeare production Love's Labour's Lost. In December of 1999 she was expecting their daughter, to have been named Eva Archer Syme-Reeves, when the infant was still-born a few weeks premature. She went on to star in three Aerosmith music videos, entitled Cryin, Crazy and Amazing which were hugely successful both for the band and Silverstone, making her a household name. Syme had performed in a few minor film roles including for Lynch in his Lost Highway. She won a leading part in the 1993 movie The Crush, playing a girl who sets out to ruin an older man after her teenage crush is spurned, for which she won two awards at the 1994 MTV Movie Awards. Born Jennifer Maria Syme in Pico Rivera, California, she was working as an assistant to film director David Lynch when she began dating actor Keanu Reeves. Born in London, UK, to English parents, her family moved to San Fransisco, California and she later attended school in Beverly Hills during which time she acquired some early modelling and advertising work, eventually getting the part of the 'dream girl' on American TV series The Wonder Years. Jennifer Syme, (December 7, 1972 – April 2, 2001), was an entertainment industry employee, best known as the companion of actor Keanu Reeves.

She is also noted for her strong views on animal welfare and is a committed vegan. According to critics, she has demonstrated a versatile acting talent in a range of parts, from femme fatale in The Crush to quirky comedy in Clueless. She first came to widespread attention in the music video for Aerosmith's Cryin and later starred in several Hollywood motion pictures.
