Adrien Brody

The role won him an Academy Award for Best Actor. Jeff Chandler is honored with a star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Brody hovered on the brink of stardom before getting his due recognition when he was cast as the lead in Roman Polanski's The Pianist (2002). He was interred in the Hillside Memorial Park Cemetery in Culver City, California. He was born in New York City and his mother is the Hungarian-born photojournalist Sylvia Plachy. Shortly after completing his role in Merrill's Marauders (1962), Chandler died in Los Angeles, California at age of 42, from blood poisoning following disc herniation surgery.
