Lopez had to return to Mexico after her father was released from the hospital, but she flew back to Puerto Rico everytime that the opera's filming schedule allowed her to. In the early 1960s, She starred in an episode of The Twilight Zone, The Ring-a-Ding Girl. Her father recuperated, but only five percent of his heart is currently working. At the time of her death from an overdose of sleeping pills, she was supporting herself as a typist. Lopez was given immediate permission to travel to Puerto Rico and be with her father for as long as she needed. McNamara's second film role was in Three Coins in the Fountain, but she only made two more films. During the recording of that soap opera, her father suffered a heart attack and had to be hospitalized and operated. Born in New York City, she began her acting career on the stage. She starred in the national company of The Moon Is Blue for eighteen months, before debuting on Broadway in The King of Friday's Men. She went to Hollywood when Otto Preminger cast her in the lead of his film version of The Moon is Blue, and she garnered a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actress.

In 2004, Lopez participated in the Mexican soap opera, "Mujer de Madera". Maggie McNamara (June 18, 1928 - February 18, 1978) was an American actress. She travelled to Mexico next, after the invitation by the producers to try out there, and became a superstar in that country as well, working in many top soap operas, including the national super hit Amigas y Rivales. After reaching the age of majority, she came back, participating in several plays at Puerto Rico's Teatro Tapia, San Juan's premier and oldest theater, and getting the attention of Mexican producers. A short, two chapter appearance on Vivir Para Ti followed in 1983, and after that, López decided to dedicate herself to her studies. Lopez became a household name.

She was 9 then, and was given one of the most important roles of the story. WAPA-TV next chose her to play Iris Chacon and Daniel Guerrero's daughter in Yo Se Que Mentia. Her talent indicated a future superstar.
