Adamari López (born in Humacao, Puerto Rico, May 18, 1971) started her career alongside legendary Puerto Rican actress Johanna Rosaly and Venezuelan singer José Luis Rodríguez, El Puma, at the age of 6 in the Telemundo Canal 2 production of the Cristina Bazan soap opera.

Her talent indicated a future superstar. WAPA-TV next chose her to play Iris Chacon and Daniel Guerrero's daughter in Yo Se Que Mentia. She was 9 then, and was given one of the most important roles of the story. Lopez became a household name.

A short, two chapter appearance on Vivir Para Ti followed in 1983, and after that, López decided to dedicate herself to her studies. After reaching the age of majority, she came back, participating in several plays at Puerto Rico's Teatro Tapia, San Juan's premier and oldest theater, and getting the attention of Mexican producers.

She travelled to Mexico next, after the invitation by the producers to try out there, and became a superstar in that country as well, working in many top soap operas, including the national super hit Amigas y Rivales.

Her private life has become a favorite subject of paparazzi and gossip magazines, and her breakup from actor Mauricio Islas was well published.

López also participated in Mujer, Casos de la Vida Real, where she played a victim of rape that later turned lesbian.

López is rumored to have been dating singing super star Luis Fonsi as of lately, and is currently involved in a mini scandal in Puerto Rico, where a camera man filmed her while she was leaving a swimming pool, which supposedly caused Fonsi's brother to allegedly beat the photographer up. Because of this, there is a claim in court against the Fonsi brothers.

She holds a B.A. in Communications from Sacred Heart University in Puerto Rico. López loves signing autographs for her fans and is always accesible. She is best friends with singer Millie Corretjer.

In 2004, Lopez participated in the Mexican soap opera, "Mujer de Madera". During the recording of that soap opera, her father suffered a heart attack and had to be hospitalized and operated. Lopez was given immediate permission to travel to Puerto Rico and be with her father for as long as she needed. Her father recuperated, but only five percent of his heart is currently working.
