702, named after the area code of their hometown of Las Vegas, Nevada, is an American platinum-selling female hip-hop and R&B trio, made up of three young African-American women: lead singer Kameelah Williams, Irish Grinstead, and LeMisha Grinstead.

History

702 was discovered by Michael Bivins of New Edition, and made their recorded debut on Subway's hit single "This Lil' Game We Play". Missy Elliott wrote and co-produced four songs from their first album, No Doubt, including "Steelo". The remix of "Steelo" was the first major solo production credit for Elliott's main collaborator Timbaland. Ellliott crafted two more songs for 702, their second album, the Top 5 hit "Where My Girls At" and "You Don't Know". No Doubt won a Lady Of Soul Soul Train Award for "Best R&B/Soul or Rap Album Of The Year by A Group Band Or Duo". The group has sold over 5 million albums and singles worldwide and is currently signed to the Motown label.

1999: 702. After more than ten years without a hit record, in 1974 he teamed up with Odia Coates to record the number 1 hit, "Having My Baby." They would record two more duets that both made it into the Top 10. 1997: No Doubt. From his movie work, he wrote and recorded his monster hit, "Lonely Boy." He then went on to become one of the first pop singers to perform at the Las Vegas casinos. 2003: "I Still Love You". He followed up with four songs that made it into the Top 20 in 1958, making him one of the biggest teen idols of the time. 1999: "You Don't Know". "Diana" is one of the best selling 45s in music history. 1999: "Where My Girls At" (US #4). The song, "Diana," brought Anka instant stardom as it rocketed to number one on the charts.
